STACK Light, 2025

Sigterra Studio

Founded by artist, educator, and creative director Sarah George, Sigterra is underpinned by an ethos of sustainable practice, cultural understanding, and deep in development, inheriting the original connection to place – executed through use of natural materials in her designs, mindfully crafted to amplify the natural beauty of landscapes.

Sigterra’s new, handcrafted outdoor STACK Light is one such design which seamlessly blends with the natural environment of any installation site, and employs the full breadth of expertise belonging to Sigterra’s makers in its execution.

Featuring a versatile, adaptable modular stacking design and comprised of metal, ceramic, and glass components, the STACK Light offers a broad range of potential combinations, customisations, and colours to perfectly compliment its surrounds, and meet specific site requirements. Offered in a selection of warm, rich, tones which take inspiration from the natural world, and standing proudly on the line between fine art sculpture and garden lighting, STACK Lights quietly respond to and illuminate the ecosystems they call home. Exemplifying Sigterra’s core tenets, these sculptural lights comply with the Australian Government National Light Pollution Guidelines for Wildlife 2023; utilising warm spectrum colours with low lux levels, incorporating habitat for reptiles, birds, and insects, and protecting nocturnal fauna.

Also supported by Josh Rowell (ceramics), Amelia Black (ceramics), David Spark (outdoor lighting), Superior Sheet Metal (bespoke metal fabrication) and FORM (landscape architecture).
