No experience, no worries! Our classes are designed to be a fun and welcoming environment for beginners.
The only class that requires prior knowledge is our Intermediate Glassblowing workshop. For this one, the Introductory Workshop must be completed beforehand.
-
Yes! Even our very beginner courses allow you to create your own glass memento.

Our workshops are designed to make YOU the artist.
Upon arrival at the Ruth Allen studio, you'll be introduced to our friendly teachers and fellow participants. The class begins with a mandatory safety induction and an introduction to the tools.
Our teachers will then outline the workshop plan, detailing what you'll create. Colour swatches are available to help you choose your colours, and our shelves are brimming with glass art to inspire you.
During the workshop, you'll either be working directly with the tools or guiding our artists (in the Gaffer workshop) to bring your creation to life.
By the end of the workshop, you'll have placed at least one item in the kiln to cool overnight.
Within approximately 24-48 hours, we'll notify you that your glass art is ready for collection!
-
Each glass item requires an overnight cool in our kiln. In most cases, your item will be available for collection within a short 24-48 hours.
You can pick up your piece in person from the Ruth Allen studio or have it shipped via Australia Post (estimated cost: $20).
